Designer Application Policy

The Grid Show Designer Application Policy

Thank you for your interest in participating in The Grid Show! We are excited to showcase the talent and creativity of designers in the fashion industry. Before submitting your application, please review the following terms and conditions for participation:

1. Travel and Accommodations

  • Travel and accommodation are not covered by The Grid Show unless specified under special circumstances. Designers are responsible for arranging and funding their own travel, lodging, and any associated expenses.

  • The Grid Show may consider providing support for travel/accommodation on a case-by-case basis, but this will be clearly communicated in advance if applicable.

2. No Payment to Designers

  • The Grid Show does not offer payment to designers for participation. Designers will not be compensated for their time, designs, or any related costs.

  • Any fees related to participation, such as entry fees, production fees, or other costs may be requested by The Grid Show upon acceptance.

3. Fees and Costs

  • Upon acceptance into The Grid Show, designers may be asked to cover additional fees, which could include, but are not limited to, production costs, marketing contributions, or other event-related expenses.

  • Designers will be informed of these fees in advance, and payment must be made within the specified deadlines to confirm participation.

4. Commitment to Attendance

  • Designers must attend The Grid Show event during Fashion Week Houston if accepted. No-shows or failure to attend the event could result in the designer being excluded from future events or opportunities with The Grid Show.

  • Attendance is crucial for the success of the show and the professional reputation of all involved. Designers are expected to be present for rehearsals, fittings, and the event itself.

5. Future Engagements and Opportunities

  • Designers who fail to attend The Grid Show or do not meet expectations may jeopardize their ability to be invited to future engagements, events, or collaborations with The Grid Show.

  • We value professional commitment and reliability, and repeated no-shows could lead to exclusion from future participation.

6. Health and Safety

  • Designers are responsible for ensuring the safety of their designs, materials, and any other components used during the event. The Grid Show is not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damage(s) related to your designs or the setup of your space.

  • Designers are also responsible for ensuring that their clothing and accessories meet all safety regulations and do not pose any harm to models, staff, or guests during the event.

  • In the event of any medical emergency or safety issue, designers must immediately notify The Grid Show team and cooperate with safety personnel to resolve the matter.

7. Liability and Insurance

  • Designers must maintain adequate insurance for their collections, including but not limited to liability insurance for any damage or injury resulting from their participation in The Grid Show. The Grid Show is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to your designs or personal property.

  • The Grid Show reserves the right to request proof of insurance from designers prior to the event participation.

8. Indemnification

  • By applying to participate in The Grid Show, designers agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Grid Show, its organizers, staff, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from the designer's participation in the event.

  • This includes any issues related to personal injury, damage to property, or intellectual property disputes that may arise during the show.

9. Intellectual Property

  • Designers retain full ownership of their intellectual property, including their designs and collections. However, by participating in The Grid Show, designers grant The Grid Show permission to use images, video footage, and other promotional materials featuring their designs for marketing, promotional, and commercial purposes related to the event.

  • Designers agree that The Grid Show may feature their work on its website, social media platforms, and other promotional materials without further compensation.

10. Code of Conduct

  • Designers are expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times before, during, and after the event. Any behavior that is deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or harmful to the event, staff, or other participants may result in immediate disqualification from The Grid Show and exclusion from future events.

  • This includes, but is not limited to, harassment, discrimination, or any conduct that violates the rights or safety of others.

11. Force Majeure

  • The Grid Show shall not be held responsible for any delays or cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or any other events beyond its reasonable control (force majeure). In such cases, the designer will be notified promptly, and The Grid Show will work to find a suitable alternative or reschedule if possible.
